Left in the care of another family, Rio grew up as a sort of adopted son to his long time childhood friend, Lucian. Albeit, not the best family to be taken in by, he didn’t know any other lifestyle, and never held any ill feelings towards either set of parents; after all, he was better off being in someone else's care and his foster home was at least willing to take him in.Likes:
Not that Rio was old enough to understand, but his new family was, essentially, a bunch of degenerates who practiced immoral conduct as a profession. This left Lucian and Rio to usually be the only two children in the area which, naturally, was the perfect condition for them to form a close bond.
Lucian, being the older brother figure, would often take it upon himself to care for the both of them when the negligent parents were away, and when they came back to teach the two children bad habits and life lessons.
As the extra mouth to feed, Rio would try to contribute, but only to be caught in some kind of trouble and need Lucian’s assistance.
Once he hit adolescence though, Rio grew tired of this dynamic of always living in the slums and being subjugated to the constant degradation that followed his criminal foster parents; he left one day, to at least be able to explore the different cities and areas and live a slightly less bad life than what he did before. It was fairly inconsiderate of what he would be leaving behind, but he did feel like more of a burden than anything. However, it wasn’t long before he left that Lucian caught wind of what was happening and had decided to follow.
The two simply never went back home, finding it much more favorable to be living on their own terms, take in a fresh breath of air and live almost exactly the same as they have, except this time they get to walk around all day as vagrants and sleep outside.
